Terms of Service
Effective date: 8 March 2026
Last updated: 24 March 2026
1. Introduction & Acceptance
Fellowr is a church management platform operated by Famverse Ltd., a company registered in Nigeria (“we”, “us”, “our”). Fellowr helps churches manage their congregation, track member information, process donations and giving, manage events and ticketing, record expenses and budgets, generate financial reports, send automated reminders, publish blog content, manage visitor registrations, and any other management service we may render in the future. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Fellowr platform, website, and related services.
By creating an account, accessing the platform, or using any Fellowr service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Fellowr.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a church, organisation, or other entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Definitions

3. Account Registration & Responsibilities
To use Fellowr, you agree that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- The information you supply is true, complete, and accurate
- You will supply any other information that may be needed in line with legal or regulatory provisions
- You will use appropriate measures to keep your account and information secure and private at all times and to notify us promptly at support@famverse.org if you suspect unauthorised access
- If you create an account, visit, or use this platform on behalf of another entity, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on their behalf
- You are responsible for all transactions carried out using your account, even if not authorised by you or done in error
- You agree to report any suspected violation of these Terms of Service to support@famverse.org
- You agree to receive communications such as emails, notices, and other messages from Fellowr and to respond accordingly
For the avoidance of doubt, Famverse Ltd. shall not be held responsible for any issues, damages, or losses arising from your failure to fulfil these responsibilities.
Church account ownership
The person who registers a church on Fellowr becomes the Super Admin. The Super Admin has full control of the church account, including team management, church settings, and the ability to transfer ownership. If the Super Admin leaves the church, it is their responsibility to transfer ownership to another authorised person before departing.
Fellowr reserves the right to remove or restrict access to any content that violates these Terms or applicable laws. Furthermore, we reserve the right to amend, discontinue, terminate, or suspend the services temporarily or permanently, with reasonable notice given to paid subscribers and a refund where necessary.
4. Subscription Plans & Billing
Fellowr offers a free tier and paid subscription plans:
| Plan | Description |
|---|---|
| Free | Basic access with limited member capacity and feature restrictions |
| Starter | Extended member limits and access to additional features |
| Growth | Higher capacity and advanced features including AI-powered tools |
| Pro | Unlimited capacity and full access to all platform features |
Billing
- If you wish to subscribe to any paid plan, you must provide complete and accurate billing information, including a valid payment method
- You are responsible for all applicable taxes, and we will charge tax when required by law
- All payments are processed by Paystack. By subscribing, you also agree to Paystack's Terms of Service
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Annual plans receive a discount equivalent to two months free
- Pricing varies by geographic region (Nigeria NGN, Africa USD, International USD), detected automatically from your location at registration
- You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle
Subscription price changes
We may change our subscription prices from time to time. If we increase our prices, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and any price increase will take effect on your next renewal.
Cancellation & refunds
- You can cancel your paid subscription at any time
- Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@famverse.org within 14 days of the charge and we will review your case
- These Terms do not override applicable laws where they apply
5. Free Tier & Plan Limits
The Free plan provides basic access to Fellowr with usage limits (e.g. member capacity, number of visitor forms, reminder types). Specific limits are displayed on the pricing page and within the platform.
- Free-tier churches do not have access to online giving, paid event ticketing, AI features, or certain advanced capabilities
- Free-tier churches are limited to one active (published) event at a time with free tickets only. Paid ticketing requires a Starter plan or above
- Pilot churches that were onboarded during the beta period are grandfathered on the Free plan with extended limits and are not subject to paid-plan restrictions
- We reserve the right to modify Free plan limits with reasonable notice
6. Subscription Expiry & Data Lifecycle
If a paid subscription expires and is not renewed, Fellowr follows a gradual, church-sensitive lifecycle designed to protect your data:
| Phase | Timing | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| Grace period | Days 0–60 | Downgraded to Free tier. Existing data above Free limits remains fully accessible and editable, but new additions above the cap are blocked. Email reminders are sent. |
| Suspension | Days 61–180 | Platform access is restricted to data export only. Monthly deletion warning emails are sent. |
| Deletion | Day 180 | All church data is permanently and irreversibly deleted. A confirmation email is sent to the Super Admin. The email address is freed for re-registration. |
Data export
You can export your church data (members, donations, expenses) as CSV at any time via Settings → Billing, including during the grace and suspension periods. We strongly encourage exporting your data before the deletion deadline.
Renewing your subscription at any point before Day 180 immediately restores full access. After deletion, re-registration is possible but no prior data will be recovered.
7. Giving & Donations
Fellowr provides tools that allow churches to record, track, and receive donations. By using Fellowr's giving features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Fellowr's role
- Fellowr is a platform provider — we facilitate the recording and processing of donations but are not a party to any donation transaction between a donor and a church
- Online donations are processed by Paystack, a licensed payment processor. Funds are settled directly to the church's verified bank account via a Paystack subaccount
- Fellowr does not charge any per-transaction fee on donations. Revenue is subscription-based only. Transaction fees charged by Paystack (e.g. 1.5% + ₦100 for local cards) are separate
- By making a donation through Fellowr, the donor is subject to Paystack's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Church responsibilities
- The church is solely responsible for how donated funds are used, allocated, and reported to donors and regulatory authorities
- The church must ensure its bank account details are accurate and up to date. Fellowr is not liable for delays or losses caused by incorrect bank information
- The church must comply with all applicable tax, charity, and financial reporting laws in its jurisdiction
Donation refunds
- Refunds for online donations are initiated by a church admin within Fellowr and processed through Paystack
- Fellowr facilitates the refund workflow but does not make refund decisions — the church determines whether a refund is warranted
- Donors are advised to reach out to the church admin directly where there is a need for a refund
- Refund processing times depend on Paystack, the church, and the donor's financial institution
Recurring giving
- Donors may set up recurring gifts via Paystack. The donor must initiate the first payment themselves. By setting up recurring donations, you authorise periodic charges to your selected payment method
- Recurring gifts can be cancelled at any time by the donor (via a self-service manage page) or by a church admin
- Fellowr is not responsible for failed recurring charges due to expired cards, insufficient funds, or other payment issues
Donor covers fee
Churches may enable an option that allows donors to voluntarily cover the Paystack processing fee. This is always optional for the donor and clearly disclosed at the point of giving. The “fee” refers solely to Paystack's transaction processing fee — Fellowr does not add any additional charge.
Limitation of liability for donations
We are not liable for losses or issues arising from payment processing delays, third-party failures, refund processing delays, system or technical issues, or any other circumstances beyond our control.
Tax
Donations may not qualify for tax deductions in certain jurisdictions. Donors are therefore advised to seek independent tax advice.
Reporting suspected fraud
Donors are encouraged to send a report to support@famverse.org where there is a suspected case of fraud or scam.
8. Expense Tracking & Financial Reports
Fellowr provides tools for churches to record expenses, set budgets, and view financial summaries. These tools are provided for organisational convenience only.
Not financial advice
Fellowr is not an accounting service, tax advisor, or financial institution. The expense tracking, budgeting, and reporting features are management tools — they do not constitute professional financial, tax, or legal advice. Churches are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their financial records and for complying with all applicable financial reporting and tax obligations.
- The platform does not verify the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of data entered by the user or church
- The church or the user is solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of records entered into Fellowr
- The platform does not guarantee that financial reports will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from system inaccuracies
- Financial reports and summaries generated by Fellowr are based on data entered by the church and should be independently verified before use in official filings or audits
- Churches remain responsible for compliance with all applicable financial, tax, and regulatory obligations within their jurisdiction
- The church is responsible for ensuring that persons operating the platform have adequate knowledge to manage financial records
- Fellowr is not liable for any financial loss, tax penalty, or regulatory action arising from reliance on data entered into or generated by the platform
9. Events & Ticketing
Fellowr provides tools that allow churches to create, promote, and manage events — including free and paid ticketing, attendee registration, QR code check-in, and event analytics. By using Fellowr's events features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Fellowr's role
- Fellowr is a platform provider — we facilitate event creation, ticket sales, and attendee management but are not an event organiser or co-host. The church is solely responsible for the planning, execution, and outcome of its events
- Paid ticket purchases are processed by Paystack. Funds are settled directly to the church's verified bank account. Fellowr does not charge any per-transaction fee on ticket sales — Paystack's standard processing fees apply
- Revenue from paid ticket sales is automatically recorded as a donation in a dedicated giving fund created for the event. This is for the church's financial record-keeping and does not imply that Fellowr controls or manages those funds
Church responsibilities
- The church is responsible for the accuracy of all event information — including dates, times, locations, descriptions, ticket prices, and any terms communicated to attendees
- The church must ensure that events comply with all applicable laws, regulations, venue requirements, and safety standards in its jurisdiction
- The church is responsible for fulfilling its obligations to ticket holders, including providing the event as described or offering appropriate remedies (refunds, rescheduling) if the event is cancelled or materially changed
- The church must ensure it has appropriate insurance and liability coverage for its events where applicable
Ticket purchases & holds
- When an attendee initiates a paid ticket purchase, the requested tickets are temporarily held (reserved) for up to 10 minutes while payment is processed. If payment is not completed within this window, the hold expires and the tickets are released back to the available pool
- Ticket availability is determined in real time. Fellowr does not guarantee that tickets will remain available between the time a listing is viewed and a purchase is completed
- Any ticket obtained on behalf of another person should be done with their consent. Parental or guardian consent must be obtained where tickets are purchased for children or persons without the legal capacity to give consent
- Fellowr is not responsible for disputes between a church and its attendees regarding ticket availability, event cancellations, or the quality of the event experience
Ticket refunds & cancellations
- Refund policies for event tickets are determined by the hosting church, not by Fellowr
- Event attendees are advised to reach out to the church admin directly where there is a need for a refund
- Church administrators can cancel individual registrations within Fellowr. For paid tickets, refunds are processed through Paystack subject to Paystack's processing timelines
- Refund processing times depend on Paystack, the church, and the attendee's financial institution
- If an event is cancelled by the church, the church is responsible for communicating with attendees and processing any refunds owed
Limitation of liability for events
- We are not liable for losses or issues arising from payment processing delays, third-party failures, refund processing delays, system or technical issues, or any other circumstances beyond our control
- Fellowr shall not be liable for any issues, losses, refunds, damages, or injuries arising from events organised by the church, or for the church's failure to perform due to situations beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, or public health emergencies
Reporting suspected fraud
Event attendees are encouraged to send a report to support@famverse.org where there is a suspected case of fraud or scam.
Plan-based event limits
- The number of active (published) events and access to paid ticketing features depend on the church's subscription plan. Free-plan churches are limited to one active event at a time and may only offer free tickets
- Paid ticketing (charging for event tickets) is available on Starter, Growth, and Pro plans only
- We reserve the right to modify event-related plan limits with reasonable notice
Event content standards
Events published on Fellowr are publicly visible and represent both the hosting church and the Fellowr platform. Fellowr reserves the right to unpublish, remove, or restrict any event listing that, in its sole discretion:
- Contains misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive information
- Promotes violence, hatred, discrimination, or illegal activity
- Violates scriptural standards or community guidelines consistent with Fellowr's mission as a church management platform
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Is otherwise inconsistent with Fellowr's values or harmful to the broader Fellowr community
10. Church Data Ownership
Your church owns its data. All member records, donation history, expense records, visitor form responses, event registrations, ticket sales, and other content entered by your team belong to your church.
- Fellowr acts as a data processor for church member, donor, and event attendee data — we process it on your behalf to provide the service
- We do not sell, share, or use your church data for any purpose beyond operating the platform
- You can export your data at any time via Settings → Billing (CSV export of members, donations, expenses, and form responses)
- Upon account deletion (whether voluntary or due to subscription expiry), all church data is permanently deleted in accordance with our data lifecycle policy (see Section 6). Please export your data before account deletion
- Fellowr shall not be held liable for any losses or issues arising from account deletion
As the data controller for your members and event attendees, your church is responsible for ensuring it has an appropriate legal basis for collecting and storing personal data, and for responding to data subject rights requests from members. See our Privacy Policy for details on how Fellowr handles data.
Users may submit complaints to support@famverse.org and such complaints will be responded to within a reasonable time.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Fellowr to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right
- Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other churches' data, other user accounts, or Fellowr's infrastructure
- Use the platform for fraudulent fundraising, money laundering, or any financial crime
- Create events or sell tickets for fraudulent, non-existent, or misleading purposes
- Publish event listings, blog posts, or other public content that violates Fellowr's content standards or community guidelines
- Send unsolicited bulk messages or spam through Fellowr's email features
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to Fellowr without our written consent
- Misrepresent your identity or your authority to act on behalf of a church
In addition, you agree not to:
- Modify, lease, or copy any of our services
- Assist anyone or any entity, or attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, create derivative works, or discover the source code or underlying components of Fellowr or its services, including our models or systems, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law
- Interrupt or disrupt our services, including circumventing our subscription plans or bypassing any protective measures we put in place, or attempt to do so
Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without notice or refund.
12. Intellectual Property
The Fellowr platform — including its name, logo, design, code, documentation, and all related materials — is the intellectual property of Famverse Ltd. and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.
- Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose
- You retain full ownership of all data and content you upload to Fellowr (see Section 10)
- You grant Fellowr a limited licence to process, store, and display your content solely to provide the service
- You may not use the Fellowr name, content, logo, or branding except as required for normal use of the platform and in line with applicable laws
- Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas provided by users may be used by Fellowr without restriction or compensation
- Certain components of the platform may include third-party intellectual property, which remains the property of their respective owners
13. AI Features
Fellowr includes optional AI-powered features (Weekly Digest, AI Assistant, AI Form Insights) available on paid plans. When using these features:
- Only aggregate statistics and member names/event dates are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) — sensitive personal data (email, phone, address) is never shared
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and approving any AI-generated content before use
- Fellowr is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content
- Fellowr shall not be liable for any data breach, loss, or damage arising from using any AI-generated content
- AI features are clearly labelled within the platform
14. Privacy
Your use of Fellowr is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal and financial data. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We process your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
15. Third-Party Services
Fellowr integrates with third-party services to deliver its functionality. Your use of Fellowr is subject to the terms and policies of these providers:
| Service | Used For | Their Terms |
|---|---|---|
| Paystack | Subscription billing, online donation processing, event ticket payments, bank account verification | paystack.com/terms |
| SendGrid | Transactional email delivery | twilio.com/legal/tos |
| OpenAI | AI-powered features (see Section 13) | openai.com/policies |
| Cloudinary | Image and file storage | cloudinary.com/tos |
- Fellowr is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service
- If a third-party service experiences an outage or discontinues operations, affected Fellowr features may be temporarily unavailable. We will work to restore functionality or provide alternatives as quickly as reasonably possible
- Your data shared with third parties is governed by both our Privacy Policy and the respective provider's privacy policy
- Fellowr shall not be liable for any data breach, loss, or damage arising from third-party services beyond its control. By using the platform, you acknowledge the risks associated with reliance on third-party services
16. User-Generated Content & Content Standards
You and your team upload content to Fellowr, including member records, donation data, expense records, visitor form configurations, church profile information, event listings, blog posts, images, and notes. You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of all content you upload
- Ensuring you have the right to collect, store, export, and process any personal data entered into the platform (including member data, donor information, event attendee data, financial records, and any other content)
- Obtaining any necessary consents from individuals whose data you enter
By using this platform, you represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights to upload and use such content on the platform.
Content moderation & community standards
Fellowr is designed to serve churches and faith-based organisations. All publicly visible content — including event listings, church profiles, blog posts, and any other content shared through the platform — must be consistent with Fellowr's mission and community standards.
Fellowr reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to review, remove, unpublish, or restrict any user-generated content that:
- Violates these Terms or applicable law
- Contains misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, or deceptive material
- Promotes violence, hatred, discrimination, or harassment
- Does not meet scriptural standards or community guidelines consistent with Fellowr's identity as a church management platform
- Infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party
- Is otherwise harmful to the Fellowr community, its users, or the platform's reputation
Content takedowns
Where possible, Fellowr will notify the church administrator before or promptly after removing content, and provide an opportunity to address the concern. However, in cases of clear or serious violations (e.g. fraud, illegal activity, or hate speech), content may be removed immediately without prior notice. Fellowr's decision on content removal is final.
17. Service Availability & Modifications
We strive to keep Fellowr available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
- The platform may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. Users are responsible for maintaining independent backups of critical data
- We may modify, add, or remove features at any time. For material changes that reduce existing functionality, we will provide reasonable notice via email or in-app notification
- Third-party service outages (Paystack, SendGrid, hosting providers) may affect platform functionality. Fellowr is not liable for disruptions caused by third-party services
Beta & experimental features
From time to time, Fellowr may offer access to new, experimental, or beta features for testing and evaluation purposes. These features are provided “as is” and may be incomplete, contain errors, or be subject to change or discontinuation at any time without notice. Fellowr makes no representations or warranties regarding the reliability, availability, or performance of beta features.
18. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
- Fellowr only facilitates but does not process or hold funds, and is not responsible for payment disputes, chargebacks, or reversals initiated by donors or financial institutions
- The church is solely responsible for responding to chargebacks, providing supporting documentation, and complying with any requirements imposed by the payment processor or financial institutions
- Fellowr reserves the right to suspend or restrict access to payment-related features where excessive chargebacks, suspected fraud, or misuse of the platform is detected
19. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Fellowr is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory
- We do not warrant that the platform will be error-free, secure, or available at all times
- Famverse Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Fellowr in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim
Financial data disclaimer
Fellowr is not liable for the accuracy of donation records, expense reports, giving statements, event revenue reports, or financial summaries generated by the platform. These are based on data entered by church administrators and should be independently verified. Fellowr is not responsible for any tax liability, audit finding, or financial loss arising from reliance on platform-generated reports.
20. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Famverse Ltd., its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the platform or violation of these Terms
- Your church's collection, use, or handling of member, donor, or event attendee personal data
- Disputes between your church and its donors regarding donations, refunds, or the use of donated funds
- Disputes between your church and event attendees regarding ticket purchases, event cancellations, or the event experience
- Inaccurate financial records or reports created using the platform
- Any claim by a third party arising from content you upload or actions you take through the platform
21. Force Majeure
Famverse Ltd. shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, epidemics, or pandemics
- War, terrorism, civil unrest, or government actions
- Internet or telecommunications failures, power outages, or cyberattacks
- Actions or omissions of third-party service providers (e.g. Paystack, hosting providers)
- Changes in applicable law or regulation that prevent performance
In such events, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the force majeure event. We will use reasonable efforts to mitigate the impact and resume normal service as soon as practicable.
22. Termination
By you
You may close your Fellowr account at any time by contacting us at support@famverse.org. We recommend exporting your data before requesting account closure. Upon closure, your data will be retained for 90 days (in case you change your mind) and then permanently deleted.
By us
Fellowr may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if:
- You violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use policy (Section 11)
- Your account is used for fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activities
- Required by law, regulation, or a court order
For subscription expiry (non-renewal), the data lifecycle in Section 6 applies instead of immediate termination.
Effect of termination
- Your right to access the platform ceases immediately upon termination
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 10 (Data Ownership), 19 (Limitation of Liability), 20 (Indemnification), and 23 (Governing Law)
23. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, either party may submit the matter to the courts of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.
24. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or if modification is not possible, it shall be severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
25. Waiver
The failure of Famverse Ltd. to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Famverse Ltd.
26. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without the prior written consent of Famverse Ltd. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms to a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, provided that the successor agrees to be bound by these Terms.
27. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Famverse Ltd. regarding your use of Fellowr, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and proposals, whether oral or written, between you and Famverse Ltd.
28. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:
- The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised
- For material changes, we will notify Super Admins by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect
- Continued use of Fellowr after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms
- If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the platform and close your account
